Parkrose Heights Community Garden 2016 (Before any work has commenced)

Located in Northeast Portland, Parkrose United Methodist Church is an accessible gathering place that serves a diverse community. We will be working closely with the congregation to complete a multi-phased project over the next couple years to revitalize the existing community garden, establish a multitude of programs to educate and engage the church and neighboring communities, and redesign the garden to be more accessible for everyone. The garden will be available for any who are interested, and surplus harvest will be shared with the community through the Parkrose Food Pantry.

Phase 1

In the first year, our focus will be on program development. Garden classes, workshops and events will be planned and scheduled to occur regularly throughout the year to promote community involvement, education and interest.

Phase 2

The second phase will consist of redesigning the existing garden to be more accessible for everyone in the neighborhood. Educational workshops and community events will continue to be offered regularly throughout the year.
